OPERATIONS CREW POSITIONS (Part-Time)

The Portland Farmers Market is seeking part-time crew people for
set-up, tear-down, and market operations. Part time seasonal position
(May - Nov). Must be able to lift 50+ lbs, available Saturdays, and be
wide awake before the sunrise. Farm, market or special events
experience a plus.

The primary role of the operations crewperson is to help set-up and
tear-down all the equipment and objects owned by the Portland Farmers
Market that contribute to the physical existence of the Saturday
Portland Farmers Market.

Additionally, the operations crew is responsible for the physical
appearance, cleanliness, and overall safety of the marketplace.

Primary responsibilities:
* Set-up and tear-down of Saturday, Wednesday and Thursday market
operations equipment.
* Timeliness: Making sure market operations are ready for opening
of the market.
* Maintenance and organization of all market equipment.
* Cleanliness: making sure the market area is clean throughout the
day.

Secondary responsibilities:
* Safety: keeping an eye out for potential safety hazards to
customers or vendors.
* Customer service (to both vendors and market shoppers).
* General assistance to all other market staff (Market Manager,
Volunteer Coordinator, etc).
* Assist market volunteers when needed.

Qualifications:
* Able to lift 50 lbs. or more. This is a very physical job.
* Passion for local food and farms; knowledge of community food
systems a plus.

The direct supervisor to the Operations crewperson is the Market
Manager.

Part-time seasonal position. Must be available Saturdays. Scheduling
and hours dependant on applicant.
